Chemotherapy and radiation are known as standard treatments for cancer. However, many people are turning to natural cancer treatments, either as a complement to their treatment or as a standalone therapy.

Most alternative cancer treatments can’t cure cancer, but they can provide relief from symptoms such as anxiety, stress, nausea and fatigue. They can also help patients feel like they are taking back some control over their health.

1. Dietary supplements

Dietary supplements can help prevent and treat cancer. A doctor of naturopathic medicine can assess the needs of a cancer patient and recommend them the vitamins and minerals that could make a positive difference.

2. Ozone therapy

Ozone therapy is using ozone to treat different conditions, including cancer. Intravenous ozone injections can help destroy unhealthy cancer cells.

3. Acupuncture

During an acupuncture session, a practitioner inserts sterile needles at precise points into a patient’s skin. This type of alternative treatment can help relieve pain, as well as nausea caused by chemotherapy.

4. Intravenous Vitamin C

Vitamin C offers many benefits to human beings. For cancer patients, injections of Vitamin C help relieve the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation, and they can improve their emotional and physical well-being.

5. Hydrogen peroxide therapy

The intravenous injection of a solution that contains hydrogen peroxide stimulates the production of white blood cells. It also helps destroy cancer cells.

6. Meditation

Meditation is a practice during which you can focus your thoughts on an image, a sound, or a pleasant idea. Daily meditation is an easy way to relieve stress and anxiety, and to improve the state of mind of a cancer patient.

7. Mistletoe therapy

The injection of mistletoe extracts can stimulate the immune system of cancer patients and increase their quality of life. It also helps inhibit the spread of cancer cells.

8. Yoga

Yoga is a popular type of exercise that involves deep breathing. Yoga classes designed specifically for cancer patients can help relieve stress and improve sleep.

9. Hypnosis

A certified hypnotherapist can hypnotize a cancer patient to help them focus on their goals. Hypnosis can help prevent nausea, control pain, and reduce stress and anxiety.

10. Exercise

Regular exercise will improve anyone’s quality of life. For cancer patients, a daily program featuring gentle exercises can help manage their different symptoms so they can feel better and live longer.

  1. From my personal experience, acupuncture is the most painful method on the list, but it’s also the one of the few with a higher chance of success…

    • I understand why you might be skeptical, Jeanne. Hypnosis focuses more on the psychological aspects of treatment. As we all know, the battle against cancer is more than just physical – it consumes us physically, mentally, psychologically too. Anything that can put us at ease and make the journey feel a little less of a burden is worthy of mentioning.

    • I get what you’re saying, but would you really go see a hypnotist instead of, say, a doctor or a naturopath for cancer treatment?

    • For most people, it wouldn’t be their highest priority, but please understand that we all choose to cope with pain in different ways. There’s no harm in visiting a hypnotist if it can give a cancer patient the peace of mind that they need.

    • All hope is hope. If this hope can provide positivity to the cancer patient, then there are merits to this treatment method. I just don’t feel like hypnotism should be discredited just because it cures a part of the self that isn’t visible on the outside.
